ROWAN COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -

Nearly 200 people attended a Friday night vigil for missing teen Erica Parsons, who hasn’t been seen since 2011.

The vigil, which was held just feet away from the home of Casey and Sandy Parsons, Erica’s adoptive parents, was made up of mostly strangers who had never even met Erica.

People held signs, released balloons, and lit candles in honor of Erica, who was reported missing by her brother just 25 days before vigil.

Carolyn Parsons, Erica’s biological mother, was also at the vigil.

“No mother wants to have to give up her kids. I didn’t want to. She didn’t deserve the life I had ,” Carolyn Parsons told WBTV.

Parsons lives out of state but returned to North Carolina when authorities announced they were looking for Erica.

“I still love her. I always have and I always will. Erica if you see this please call somebody,”
Parsons said.
